"Team Pittsburgh," featuring twenty players from the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League, beat Team Texas, 9-2, to win its second straight America's Showcase tournament last week in St. Louis.
Team Pittsburgh went 6-0 in the tournament and outscored its opponents, 54-5.
Members of the team were Richie Karapandi (North Allegheny), Danny Stauffer (Pine Richland), Jordan Adams (Cathedral Prep), JC Bele (Bethel Park), Ryan Brown (Connellsville), Tanner Daniels (General McLane), Nicholas Frantz (Meadville), Wyatt George (Mt. Lebanon), Jared Gerger (Hempfield), Jake Kruszewski (Cathedral Prep), Hunter Partsch (Westmont Hilltop), Corbin Ragno (Westmont Hilltop), Oldrich Virag (Franklin Regional), Vincent Vituccio (Bethel Park), Tyler Duderstadt (North Allegheny), Dustin Geregach (Montour), Andrew Jacobs (Conneaut), Jeremy Jenkins (Beaver Area), Jordan Rosenbaum (Pine Richland), and Ross Zofcin (Baldwin).
The head coach was Paul Bonetti (Chartiers Valley) and assistants were Justin Glock (Baldwin) and Clay Shell (Montour). Gina Colligan was general manager.
